Being a nomad

Questions answered!

How many pieces of luggage do you have?

I have 2 pieces of carry on luggage coming to ~30kg each os ~60kg is what total sum of my belongings!

I have to be very conscious and deliberate of what I want, it has to be a "Fuck yes" item because that means I would have to remove something else. The key, like any of the fashion gurus would say, you really only need a few pieces that go well with each other which could then be mixed and matched.

Why did you become a nomad?

I became a nomad to embrace the freedom and richness that comes with exploring the world. It started as a desire to step outside the boundaries of routine and immerse myself in new cultures, experiences, and communities. Along the way, I realized how much I value the balance between constant discovery and the simplicity of living with less—traveling light with just two carry-ons, creating a life that’s both minimalist and fulfilling. Being a nomad allows me to pursue my passions, like tango, in diverse places, connect with people across the globe, and continuously redefine what home means to me. It’s about more than travel—it’s a lifestyle that aligns with who I am and how I want to live.

How do you pick the cities

It's a mix of tango events, friends telling me that I should go somewhere or come visit them, or just going for the fun of it.

Where do you stay?

Again depending on why I'm in a city I'll stay at a friends if I'm invited (any offers ;) ), AirBnbs, and Hotels.

Favorite city

Of course, I'm biased and I have to say Buenos Aires for the tango but of course I love the city and culture. After that, so far it is Paris, Istanbul, and Turin for tango, the city feel, history, walkability, and energy.

Where's all you stuff

When I left San Fransisco I made the decision to get rid of everything. Unfortunately due to my timing that I gave myself I ended up throwing away everything. While it was an incredbily hard choice to throw essentially my entire adult life of stuff away I'm so glad I did it! To not have to worry about:
  • Moving from point A to B to C
  • Paying for and worrying about the storage
  • Forgetting what I had
  • Thinking about if the things would fit in a new life, wherever that may be, in the future
Basically, I'm free and don't have to even think about any of it and my life is so light because of it!

What item do you miss from home

At this point I miss the bed I had picked with a weighted blanket. I've slept on beds and couches so this is what I miss the most.
